Stop trying to sell to younger generations with moodboards disguised as meaning. Gen Z and Gen Alpha aren’t confused or lost. I think they are just not buying into the same old systems, and they are definitely not buying your filtered nostalgia wrapped in 90s fonts and “Old Money” cosplay. They want depth. Purpose. Clarity. Not another recycled aesthetic. And here is what most of us keep getting wrong. Gen Z doesn’t want you to speak like them. They want you to speak like yourself, with actual conviction. It is cringeworthy when Gen X tries to “slay,” or Millennials water themselves down to stay relevant. Each generation has a voice. Why not own yours. Gen X brings structure and legacy. Millennials bring empathy and evolution. Gen Z brings boundaries and brutal honesty. Gen Alpha will bring something we haven’t even learned how to name yet. You don’t need to trend. You need to matter. You don’t need to imitate. You need to stand for something. If your brand doesn’t have a story rooted in something real, no aesthetic will save you. Speak your age. Speak your truth. Because what this next generation is really asking is simple. Do you believe in anything? Or are you just dressing things up and hoping we won’t notice the emptiness? They will. They already do. And if you’re not building from the inside out with honesty, purpose and actual soul, you’re not building anything at all.
